At work, it’s almost impossible to get along with everyone. Some colleagues will rub you the wrong way—maybe they talk too much in meetings, maybe they think they know everything, or maybe they just have that one habit that drives you crazy. It’s normal, and sometimes you just learn to roll your eyes and move on.
But the funny thing is, the moment a common enemy shows up—whether it’s a tough deadline, a demanding client, or even a printer that refuses to work—suddenly the “enemy of my enemy is my friend” rule kicks in. People who used to argue over the smallest things suddenly find themselves standing shoulder to shoulder, united in frustration.
In those moments, you start to see another side of your colleagues. The one who always annoyed you with unnecessary details might suddenly become the problem-solver everyone relies on. The person who usually disagrees with you on everything might crack the exact joke you needed to survive the day. It’s like chaos creates an unexpected kind of teamwork.
And when it’s all over, you might even find yourself respecting those colleagues a little more—or at least tolerating them better. Because nothing bonds people faster than facing the same challenge together, even if that challenge is just surviving Monday morning.
